“I’m a Girl Who Loves Black and is Wearing Pink”
Bonus points if you can name what movie that quote is from haha
I actually love purple, but black is a close second if you look at the clothes in my closet. But for this blog post, I went all out with the PINK and red for Valentine’s Day, and Valentine’s Day only.
I love chocolate covered strawberries, and they will always be my all-time favorite dessert, but this year I decided to try something new with Valentine’s Day themed mini donuts!!
These donuts provide a fun way to be creative in the kitchen. With so many different glazes and toppings to choose from, the possibilities are endless.
I used the same recipe from the cinnamon and sugar donut recipe found here, but I omitted the cinnamon and nutmeg in order to make these donuts a plain, vanilla flavor. Although, the complete recipe would be just as delicious covered in icing.
Then I used my royal icing recipe to make a thin glaze perfect for coating these mini donuts. It’s important to let the donuts cool completely before glazing them so the icing can set properly. Other than that, just have fun decorating these delicious donuts.
Of course, I had to use pink and red sprinkles to make these festive! And just a drop of food coloring to make pink icing. I also melted some dark chocolate to add variety to the flavors and I love how those turned out!
Add a fun twist on Valentine’s Day dessert with these mini donuts!
