Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods
For a quick and easy Fourth of July dessert, I made chocolate covered pretzel rods. Children and adults love these simple, chocolatey treats and if you’re low on time, but want to bring something festive to your July 4th picnic, this recipe is the way to go. Plus, you can get creative with your choice of sprinkles and mix up the colors to fit in with any theme or holiday season!
Ingredients:
- 1 bag of Herr’s pretzel rods
- 1 container of Baker’s Dipping Milk Chocolate (or your choice of chocolate)
- Festive Red, White, and Blue sprinkles
Instructions:
Line a baking sheet with wax paper. Melt your chocolate based on the instructions included on your Baker’s chocolate container.
In most cases, melting chocolate in the microwave for 30 second increments will help prevent the chocolate from burning.
Once the chocolate is melted, transfer it to a tall drinking glass. This will allow you to coat a majority of the pretzel leaving room at the bottom for holding.
Dip each pretzel into the chocolate and lay it down on the baking sheet. Work quickly to coat each dipped pretzel in sprinkles.
Repeat this process until the chocolate is gone. Refrigerate your pretzels to allow the chocolate to harden.
Remove from the refrigerator prior to serving to allow the pretzels to reach room temperature.
**Side note, you may notice some condensation on your chocolate once you remove these pretzels from the refrigerator—that’s normal as the chocolate adjusts to the room’s temperature.
